The LORD is sovereign!! His plans are greater than anything we can imagine and His timing is perfect! That was confirmed to me during our Scripture for April 13! When He directs me to the perfect text at just the right time, my faith explodes! I hope that when I write it out you can feel my enthusiasm!!
We are walking with Jesus chronologically through the Gospels, following Him from the cradle to the cross. The last time we looked at His journey was on March 15, 2025. We have been in several different writings since then, Acts, James, and we did a overview of the Canon of Scriptures. On March 15 we were reading of the causes of suffering. He used a healing, historical events, and parables to teach us that there are four main reason for sufftering. Our text ended that day with:
These are His words to Jerusalem, "The next time you see Me you'll be saying, "Blessed is One who comes in the Name of the LORD!" A reference to Psalm 118:26. A prophecy that Jesus says will be fulfilled the next time the City of Jerusalem sees Him. We ended there.
Fast forward to April 13, 2025, Palm Sunday. I felt like we should skip ahead and remind ourselves of the events on the day Jesus entered Jerusalem and witness how the city of Jerusalem gathered to praise Him!
Did you catch that? The prochecy we read of on March 15 was completed in our reading on April 13! Do you sense my excitement?
That day, six days before His crucifixion, He entered the city and the streets were lined with those who were shouting and praising Him. Up until this day Jesus had been under the radar. The Pharisees were looking for Him in order to arrest Him. So, why on this day does He appear to them on a donkey riding through the city, fulfilling His prophecy? Romans 5:6 - For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. The will of the Father is perfect. His prophecies will never fail. Many times we heard Jesus say, "My time has not yet come." Now was the time.
When we look at circumstances and ask, "When?" or "How long?" Remember what I said at the beginning, "The LORD is sovereign!! His plans are greater than anything we can imagine and His timing is perfect!"
