Don't you just love it when you think you're suppossed to do one thing, but the LORD closes the door and leads you in a different direction? When it's over you realize that was God's perfect will. That's what happened yesterday during our time together!
During the past week, I followed our Reese Chronological Study Bible reading. Our text should have been Luke 12. However, I could never get settled enough to even send the email for the weekly reading. I should have known that the LORD was up to something BIG.
The class size was small this week. But, be sure the LORD soveriegnly led us to exactaly where HE wanted us to be. We began, as we do each week, praising the LORD for the miracles and blessings He gave us during the week and went on to mention the burdens and needs of our heart.
Here's where the power of God moved. Because of a request that was shared, we were able to speak truth and love into a situation. Here's what we learned:
- We all have burdens that are too heavy to carry alone
- Our fears and anxieties can keep us from enjoying real blessings
- When we pray for God's perfect will, it may not be anything close to what we imagined
- Our own expectations can lead us into disppointment
- The LORD wants our lives to glorify Him
- We can miss the will of God if we are not humble
- A mother's love is so deep that it hurts
- The LORD hears and answer our prayers
- A man makes plans in his heart, but the LORD determines his steps
- Be patient and wait on the LORD
- Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you!
- Pray, Pray, Pray
